THE HUMAN COLON

Greetings

I have been away for a while caring for my very ill husband. The topic of Colons seems to be very popular right now and I couldn't figure out why. I don't know about you but talki9ng about certain body parts (colon, bowel, and others) seemed kind of gross. It is definitely not a dinner conversation topic but I have recently changed my mind or rather had it changed for me. I just got my husband home from 12 days in the hospital . He has an abscess on his colon and an infection in the abdominal wall. This is a very serious and painful illness that usually results in surgery (a Colostomy) luckily he is recovering without one. I hope you are not offended by this posting as it is my intent to inform so it might not happen to someone else. The products that I mention should not be used without checking with your physician and are in no way intended to be a cure for anything. These products are to help to clean the colon if you are healthy enough to do so and with your physicians permission.

The colon is also called the large intestine. It doesn't digest food. It's the part of the digestive system responsible for processing waste out of the body. Loose waste material travels along the four parts of the large intestine where it is converted into solid material.

Tracking the process, from the small intestine, waste material enters the Ascending colon and travels up to the Transverse colon which transports it across the body to the Descending colon. The material is processed down the Descending colon to the Sigmoid colon and out of the body through the rectum. In a healthy colon, along the journey loose liquid material has become solid waste.

During this slow passage nutrients and water are removed and the waste is made solid for easy expulsion from the rectum. In an optimally functioning colon, nutrients are absorbed properly and toxins are expelled with the waste and nothing becomes impacted along the way.

A healthy diet ensures a healthy functioning colon. The best diet will consist of organic foods in the various groups:

  • Fiber
  • Fruit
  • Vegetables
  • Whole grains
  • Beans

You can even get healthier meat when you look for organic, range-fed beef. Review the diet suggestions from the Colon Cleansing & Constipation Resource Center to get more ideas for enjoyable, healthy meals for your best health.

Physical activity is important to maintain an active digestive system. Remember, a sluggish system retains toxic waste in the body for longer than is healthful.

Drink purified, oxygenated water for your best health. Water helps to flush the body of toxins as does the added oxygen. Water is helps the colon to process soft stool, and not dry fecal matter which becomes difficult to excrete.

Even the most health conscious person can have bouts of irregularity because it’s not just your diet that can through your digestive system out of balance. Travel, sleep changes, and stress are factors that can affect your digestion. Consider cleansing your colon periodically to clear the waste that gets trapped. Oxy-Powder® is working wonders for many people. It provides oxygen to the bowels which breaks up impacted matter so that it can be passed from the body. A clean colon is a healthier colon.

To A Healthier Lifestyle

THE SECRETS OF CHAKRA ENERGY BY JOHNATHAN BENJEM

Greetings,
Good morning readers. Due to my recent illness and life's little challenges I am seriously behind in some projects that need to be addressed so to relieve soe of my own stress and anxiety have decided to post some very interesting articles by other authors for a while.

Did you know that our bodies have tremendous amounts of energies, which are sufficient to ensure our physical and mental health? This may come as news to many Westerners, but it's a fact of life proved and followed by many ancient saints and scholars in countries, like India.

They call the phenomenon as the 'Chakra Energy'. To a layman, it is the energy generated by the seven primary energy centers in the body. Interestingly, all these seven energy centers are situated in the upper half of the body, i.e., from head to the base of spine. These primary energy centers are:

* Base Chakra (RED) located at the coccyx (base of the spine).

* Spleen Chakra (ORANGE) located in the lower abdomen region, just below the navel.

* Solar Plexus Chakra (YELLOW) located in the stomach area.

* Heart Chakra (GREEN) located in the center of the chest.

* Throat Chakra (BLUE) situated in the throat region.

* Brow Chakra (INDIGO) situated on the forehead.

* Crown Chakra (VIOLET) located on top of the head.

The uninterrupted movement of these Chakras produces the Chakra Energy. It is this energy, which is decisive in determining whether you enjoy a healthy physical and mental body.

The movement of the Chakras has to be harmonious in order to produce the desired effect. Naturally, the movement of Chakra is in sync, but imbalance can occur due to several physical or emotional pressures. The remedy is simply to work towards the achievement of Chakra Balance through physical and metaphysical means.

So, what's there to know about Chakra Energy? The entire Chakra System of the body is based on the spiritual side of our existence. It's more a matter of feeling than sensing. You can say that Chakra System is a part of the sixth sense in your body. The energy produced by the Chakra System is responsible for blessing you with a healthy life or cursing you with an unhealthy one.

If the movement is in sync, the Chakras will produce sufficient energy to ensure physical and mental well being. However, if the movement is not in sync, the energy so produced will not be sufficient and it'll invariably result in some body ailment.

The other important thing to know about Chakra Energy is the difficulty level in your quest to attain Chakra balance. Indeed, it's not easy to bring about a radical shift in Chakra movement overnight. However, if you persist and show extreme determination to attain that magical Chakra balance, believe me, it's a life-changing experience. The process is called Chakra Meditation, and is performed by sitting or lying down in a most natural posture. The next step is to relax every body part and feel every cell and organ of the body starting from the toe. This means a lot of visualization, and in the process, lots of distractions in the form of negative emotions. But the key is to persevere and eventually, you will conquer every hurdle in your way and transform into the most evolved being known to mankind.

Now, if that's so simple, why don't many people just give it a go and get rid of all the ailments from their lives? This is because our over-reliance on science to bring quick-fix changes in our body system. The scientific advancements have made humans too much dependent on technology. Resultantly, we have forgotten to live healthily naturally.

The best part of Chakra Energy is that it is always within your control. You just need a firm determination to balance the Chakra movements and in the process, ensure a healthy and contented existence, both in the physical as well as spiritual realm.

ARE YOU GETTING ANXIOUS OVER ANXIETY DEPRESSION

Greetings,

I am sorry I haven't posted in a while but I have been ill so as a way of apology I would like to give you all a copy of a free report: Quick and Easy tips for Reducing Stress no registration required just download and enjoy. This free report will be available for 2 weeks Click Here

A lot of people who are exerting too much of their brain power usually exhaust not only their physical strength when engaging in various multi-tasking activities, they also tend to over extend their brains up to the point when it plainly needs some good old time for relaxation. A lot of busy people who seem to cannot fathom the idea of relaxing and taking time of from work, as well as their worries, tend to actually start having nervous breakdowns, anxiety depression and all sorts of mental illnesses that can cause a person's sanity to go haywire, fortunately, if you're one of those poor unfortunate ones who are unable to de-stress and is constantly worried and fussing over things, there are actually available cures and various treatments for treating anxiety depression.

Anxiety depression is actually characterized by all sorts of irregularities and erratic behavior from the person who is suffering from it, this is usually due to certain stress triggers that may tend to easily cause a person undue jitters and stress. Also, a lot of people who tend to get easily nervous over stressful activities are actually prone to having anxiety depression; it’s just a matter of being strong-willed when it comes to facing difficult and stress-prone activities. It may be pretty hard to overcome at first, but trying to be calm and cool in times of extreme pressure is what'll actually save your mental health from going totally downward spiral.

The type of depression that has actually been proven to be quite common among people is anxiety depression, which is actually characterized by the state of being overly anxious about things. Anxiety, a supposedly normal behavior that'll actually help a person adjust more to a certain stressful activity like first date jitters or a grueling exam the following day. Anxiety actually helps you get psyched up towards facing certain "difficult situations"; anxiety therefore is actually a good thing. Anxiety depression however, is simply the opposite, not to be easily dismissed as a "case of the nerves"; Anxiety depression is in actuality an illness that can be caused from the biological makeup of an individual, or in other words, a hereditary illness.

Also, there are actually various types of Anxiety depression, each having its own unique characteristics. Take for example Generalized Anxiety Disorder or GAD, this kind of Anxiety depression is a lot more complicated than the average Anxiety depression, in spite of possibly being a day-to-day habit for those who suffer this kind of Anxiety depression, Generalized Anxiety Disorder actually makes the individual quite more paranoid than usual, anxiety attacks are more frequent, even absurd at times. They can even be anxious even when there's no apparent reason that calls for them to behave in such a way. People suffering from Generalized Anxiety Disorder actually shows a lot of symptoms, from lack of sleep, to being unable to relax, getting tired easily, cannot concentrate on what they're doing and even suffering from depression. This kind of Anxiety depression is still curable; just a little work will actually do the trick.

Consult a reputable cognitive behavior therapist who'll help give the individual the therapy that he or she needs to help him or her, also prescribed medicines are sort of a must to help these individuals battle anxiety attacks, help them calm down and relax.

ISN'T IMPOSSIBLE JUST A WORD?

Greetings
I don't know about you but the time change has really got to me especially today I feel a little off my game. Time is such an important factor in our daily lives. Work schedules are timed, breaks are timed, chores are timed, running errands are timed. Recently I have started taking the time to read articles and listen to audios to discover the secrets of extremely successful on-line entrepreneurs. From what I have heard and read is there really is no big secret it is one simple thing; if you are constantly thinking about your daily frustrations and problems you need to stop immediately and start focusing on the dreams you had or have and setting goals to achieve those dreams. Everyone, at some point of his or her life, has dreamed of being somebody special, somebody big. Who hasn't fantasized about being the one who hits the game-winning homer? Who hasn't dreamed of being the homecoming queen? And how many times have we dreamed of being rich, or successful, or happy with our relationships?

Often, we dream big dreams and have great aspirations. Unfortunately, our dreams remain just that – dreams. And our aspirations easily collect dust in our attic.

This is a sad turn of events in our life. Instead of experiencing exciting adventures in self actualization, we get caught up in the humdrum of living from day-to-day. But you know what? Life could be so much better, if only we learned to aim higher.

The most common problem to setting goals is the word impossible. Most people get hung up thinking I can't do this. It's too hard. It's too impossible. No one can do this.

However, if everyone thought that, there would be no inventions, no innovations, and no breakthroughs in human accomplishment.

Remember that scientists were baffled when they took a look at the humble bumblebee. Theoretically, they said, it was impossible for the bumblebee to fly. Unfortunately for the bumble, bee no one has told it so. So fly it does.

On the other hand, some people suffer from dreaming totally outrageous dreams and not acting on them. The result? Broken dreams, and tattered aspirations.

If you limit yourself with self-doubt, and self-limiting assumptions, you will never be able to break past what you deem impossible. If you reach too far out into the sky without working towards your goal, you will find yourself clinging on to the impossible dream.

Try this exercise. Take a piece of paper and write down some goals in your life. Under one header, list down things ‘you know you can do’. Under another header, write the things ‘you might be able to do.’ And under one more, list the things that that are ‘impossible for you to do.’

Now look at all the headers strive every day to accomplish the goals that are under things ‘you know you can do’. Check them when you are able to accomplish them. As you slowly are able to check all of your goals under that heading, try accomplishing the goals under the other header-the one that reads ‘you might be able to do.’

As of the items you wrote under things I could do are accomplished, you can move the goals that are under things that are ‘impossible for you to do’ to the list of things ‘you might be able to do.’

As you iterate through this process, you will find out that the goals you thought were impossible become easier to accomplish. And the impossible begin to seem possible after all.

You see, the technique here is not to limit your imagination. It is to aim high, and start working towards that goal little by little. However, it also is unwise to set a goal that is truly unrealistic.

Those who just dream towards a goal without working hard end up disappointed and disillusioned.

On the other hand, if you told someone a hundred years ago that it was possible for man to be on the moon, they would laugh at you. If you had told them that you could send mail from here to the other side of the world in a few seconds, they would say you were out of your mind. But, through sheer desire and perseverance, these impossible dreams are now realities.

Thomas Edison once said that genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration. Nothing could be truer. For one to accomplish his or her dreams, there has to be had work and discipline. But take note that that 1% has to be a think-big dream, and not some easily accomplished one.

So dream on, friend! . No matter how outrageous focus on what you want. A million dollar a year income, a twenty room mansion, do not question or limit yourself. Think big and work hard to attain those dreams. As you step up the ladder of progress, you will just about find out that the impossible has just become a little bit more possible.

LEARN TO RESOLVE YOUR PROBLEMS AND REDUCE STRESS

Greetings,
I work at home and there are many advantages such as, setting my own hours, no rush hour commute and more me time. However it frees me up to deal with the challenges of house hold disasters( plumbing problems, leaky roofs, broke down appliances etc.) and don't forget phone call interrupters. Our daily activities do not mean 100% joy and 0% problems. At times, we have more problems than joy. Fortunately, some individual are skilled in handling problems right. Want to know their secrets?

Well, carefree people, as some might call them, have one thing in common: optimism. These kinds of people do not mean they never had problems before. Try remembering a colleague, a relative, a friend, or someone from your community who has the brightest smile at the start until the end of the day. How many times did you see that person frown? Carefree people are fun to be with because their attitude is contagious. Have you tried asking them how they carry their problems lightly? Below are their secrets:

1.Learn to control your feelings by separating negative feelings from positive thoughts. This is the first step in solving problems. Only after you have cleared your mind with unnecessary thoughts can you start solving your problems accordingly.

2.Treat each problem as challenge and opportunity for self-improvement.

3.Free that scapegoat attitude. Are you pointing your finger or blaming others for mishaps? Take responsibilities for your mistakes. No one is perfect, so never put the blames on others.

4.Use a pen and paper, and rate the depth of the problem and possible answers to your problem. Probability law principle will allow you to evaluate how far you have thought of resolving your problems.

5.Keep a journal and treat it as a “secret friend” who is always willing to listen to your grievances. Write your feelings freely.

6.Develop a noteworthy hobby, for this will help you lessen or minimize stress in your life.

7.Take time off from work and create variations of your daily schedule. Relax and check out the best movies in town. Travel and meet new wonderful people. You will find these activities worthwhile in the long run.

The above tips will help you optimize those positive feelings of yours. Say you are already consumed by some problems. Here are the 1-2-3 steps in doing your problem solving:

1.Determine the root cause of the problem. If you think it is difficult, ask hundreds of why’s and what’s and you will soon find out the cause.

2.Think, strategize, and act for resolution.

3.Develop a strong desire to solve the problem.

4.Review the situation for you to avoid repeating the same mistakes committed beforehand.

ON BEING STRESSED OUT

Greetings,
I chose to write this article for myself as well as anyone who reads it. I am going through some stressed out days myself right now. Everyone has different things that stress them out I am an on-line marketer and I think that says it all and on top of it I am a "Baby Boomer" as well.
The one thing that virtually all baby boomers have in common is the stress of living in this modern age. So much has changed for baby boomers since they first enjoyed those days of youth culture when hairstyle and rock music seemed like the most important things in the world. But, like all generations before them and to come, baby boomers had to grow up and take on the responsibilities of raising a family, making a living and figuring out their place in this big complicated world.

Stress comes from a lot of sources. Obviously, we get it from work. We think of the work place as a source of stress because it is a place where making a living is paramount and there are daily demands, deadlines and schedules to be met. In addition, most of us have to deal with at least some difficult people during our workdays, which only compounds the stress.

But stresses don’t end when we walk out of our workplace. Traffic itself can be a stress. Then the joys of raising children and marriage can also bring some trials with them as well. It is common to return home from a difficult day only to face serious problems at home. In this situation, it seems that the stress and anxiety just keep mounting up.

This is not the adult life most baby boomers envisioned in their youth days when they were idealistic and the world was their oyster. But nobody told us that the reason the oyster is so beautiful is because it creates stress on the clam who copes with it by covering it with the smooth oyster material. So stress can build us up and make something beautiful. But it can also tear us down and lead to serious medical and mental problems if we don’t develop some coping techniques to deal with it.

Some good coping mechanisms that many baby boomers have found helpful to defray the stress in their lives include…

1.Get away from it. To put the cares of the world in perspective, we have to get away from them for a while. If nothing else, just soaking in a hot bathtub with a good magazine and some happy music can wash away the cares of the world and let them swirl down the drain with the bubbles. But look for chances to relax and put those worries aside for a little bit. It will help you calm your mind, rest your system and be ready to deal with those issues without so much anxiety, which doesn’t do anybody any good.

2.Partner with your family. Your spouse and children don’t want to see you stressed out. But sometimes they don’t know how much they add to the problems when they throw the problems of the day at you as soon as you walk through the door. It’s good for them to see the world through your eyes. But remember that they are stressed with school or issues of work and relationships too. So partner together to have a little time to just be family and love away that anxiety. Everybody will be better for it.

3.Take time for health. Its strange but our diet and rest are the things we need the most to cope with stress and yet those are the areas of life that are most damaged if we let stress wear us down. So go back to basics and make sure you get good meals, good rest and take care of yourself. It will make you a better worker and stronger for your family as well.

Seeing stress as a serious enemy to your lifestyle above and beyond the causes of stress is a big step forward to not letting this enemy continue to damage your ability to be a good worker and family member. But if you take action to keep stress from dominating your life, you are doing something very good for yourself and making yourself more able to attack problems and solve them with the creativity and intelligence people know you for.

TAKE IT EASY AND ENJOY LIFE

Greetings,

When I first became disabled I was a very unhappy person. I thought well I can't work any longer so now what do I do? Well at the age of 48 I went back to college to finish out my degree. I knew that I would not be able to use this degree for anything other than my own self satisfaction and a sense of achievement. I met so many different people from all walks of life who enriched mine.I learned so many new things about myself and what I could accomplish. My life is still not perfect and sometimes I wish I could be a child again but I feel my life is better and happier because I did something just for me. Can you remember your childhood days? During those times, nothing seemed complicated all we had to think about were crayons, cookies, or Santa Claus. We didn’t care about the things we didn’t know because we were just too oblivious of the things that might bother us.

But as we grow older, we get anxious with the things that surround us,life and death, loving and parting, success and failure, to name a few. We find that almost everyday, we are obliged to be concerned about people or events.

Nevertheless, always keep this in mind: Don’t take things as if they are responsible for the way you feel. Events or situations do not trouble you. How you look at them does.

If you miss those carefree days, you just have to look back at how you used to view things then, and you will know what to do now. Here’s a guide to make sure you won’t lose your way:

Cherish the simple things: Trust in the power of a smile or laughter, a kiss or a hug. Believe in kindness, honesty, dreams, and imagination. Living positively is the first step to becoming happy.

Loosen up. Laugh at your mistakes. You might remember the time when you were delivering your speech and your mind went completely blank right in the middle of delivering it. It’s embarrassing. But most likely, your audience will forget about it in a day or two. We all mess up occasionally. The good thing is that people tend to forget such situations.

Surround yourself with what you love. Get a pet. Retain film moments as keepsakes. Keep away from those that drag you down. If that high-paying job makes you sulk at the thought of having to go to work, find a job you like first before quitting. If some people force you to comply even if you think of doing otherwise, stay away from their company.

Don’t put off. Go on that trip you have been putting off. Go back to school and finish your degree you are never too old to learn something new Do something, while you can.

Don’t push yourself too hard trying to please everyone. You just can’t. And it never seems to be worth it anyway. When you want to make somebody’s day, start with your loved ones.

Keep fit. Be that attractive person you always picture yourself to be. Cherish your health. It’s the best way of showing you are putting your best face forward.

Do not assume. Don’t fret about forgetting your speech before you actually do it. Don’t worry about not getting the job you want because you might mess up at the interview. It’s good to expect the worst; but don’t end up expecting only the worst.

Alter your way of thinking. When you’re being ridiculed, criticized about your family background, or condemned for past mistakes, put on deaf ears. Don’t believe everything you hear. You know yourself better than everybody else does. Never wallow in self-pity.

Remember: Don’t get upset over things just because it’s how most people would react when faced with the same situation. When you find yourself being negative – angry, down, jealous, etc. – you also unknowingly drain your energy and enthusiasm. You just have to try keeping these negative feelings in the low, because giving in to these emotions would sometimes make you unreasonable, and you might end up making bad decisions.

Happiness is always in your grasp. You can attain it, as long as you know how.

THE KEY TO A BETTER LIFE

Greetings,
Time management can be your key to a more relaxed and less stressful lifestyle.Time management is basically about being focused.

Some people view time management as a list of rules that involves scheduling of appointments, goal settings, thorough planning, creating things to do lists and prioritizing. These are the core basics of time management that should be understood to develop an efficient personal time management skill.

But there is more skills involved in time management than the core basics. Skills such as decision making, inherent abilities such as emotional intelligence and critical thinking are also essential to your personal growth.

Personal time management involves everything you do. No matter how big and no matter how small, everything counts. Each new knowledge you acquire, each new advice you consider, each new skill you develop should be taken into consideration.

Having a balanced life-style should be the key result in having personal time management. This is the main aspect that many practitioners of personal time management fail to grasp.

Time management is about getting results, not about being busy.

The six areas that personal time management seeks to improve in anyone's life are physical, intellectual, social, career, emotional and spiritual.

The physical aspect involves having a healthy body, less stress and fatigue.

The intellectual aspect involves learning and other mental growth activities.

The social aspect involves developing personal or intimate relations and being an active contributor to society.

The career aspect involves school and work.

The emotional aspect involves appropriate feelings and desires and manifesting them.

The spiritual aspect involves a personal quest for meaning.

Thoroughly planning and having a set of things to do list for each of the key areas may not be very practical, but determining which area in your life is not being giving enough attention is part of time management. Each area creates the whole you, if you are ignoring one area then you are ignoring an important part of yourself.

Personal time management should not be so daunting a task. It is a very sensible and reasonable approach in solving problems big or small.

A great way of learning time management and improving your personal life is to follow several basic activities.

One of them is to review your goals whether it be immediate or long-term goals often.

A way to do this is to keep a list that is always accessible to you.

Always determine which task is necessary or not necessary in achieving your goals and which activities are helping you maintain a balanced life style.

Each and everyone of us has a peek time and a time when we slow down, these are our natural cycles. We should be able to tell when to do the difficult tasks when we are the sharpest.

Learning to say "No". You actually see this advice often. Heed it even if it involves saying the word to family or friends.

Pat yourself at the back or just reward yourself in any manner for an effective time management result.

Try and get the cooperation from people around you who are actually benefiting from your efforts of time management.

Don't procrastinate. Attend to necessary things immediately.

Have a positive attitude and set yourself up for success. But be realistic in your approach in achieving your goals.

Have a record or journal of all your activities. This will help you get things in their proper perspective.

These are the few steps you initially take in becoming a well rounded individual.

As the say personal time management is the art and science of building a better life.

From the moment you integrate into your life time management skills, you have opened several options that can provide a broad spectrum of solutions to your personal growth. It also creates more doors for opportunities to knock on.

YOUR 5 MINUTE DAILY PROGRAM FOR STRESS MANAGEMENT

Greetings,

We all have this favorite expression when it comes to being stressed out, and I wouldn't bother naming all of them since it may also vary in different languages. But when it comes down to it, I think that it is how we work or even relax, for that matter that triggers stress. Ever been stressed even when you're well relaxed and bored? I know I have.

Some behaviors and lifestyle choices affect your stress level. They may not cause stress directly, but they can interfere with the ways your body seeks relief from stress. Try to:

· Balance personal, work, and family needs and obligations.

· Have a sense of purpose in life.

· Get enough sleep, since your body recovers from the stresses of the day while you are sleeping.

· Eat a balanced diet for a nutritional defense against stress.

· Get moderate exercise throughout the week.

· Limit your consumption of alcohol.

· Don't smoke.

Social support is a major factor in how we experience stress. Social support is the positive support you receive from family, friends, and the community. It is the knowledge that you are cared for, loved, esteemed, and valued. More and more research indicates a strong relationship between social support and better mental and physical health.

When an event triggers negative thoughts, you may experience fear, insecurity, anxiety, depression, rage, guilt, and a sense of worthlessness or powerlessness. These emotions trigger the body's stress, just as an actual threat does. Dealing with your negative thoughts and how you see things can help reduce stress.

· Thought-stopping helps you stop a negative thought to help eliminate stress.

· Disproving irrational thoughts helps you to avoid exaggerating the negative thought, anticipating the worst, and interpreting an event incorrectly.

· Problem solving helps you identify all aspects of a stressful event and find ways to deal with it.

· Changing your communication style helps you communicate in a way that makes your views known without making others feel put down, hostile, or intimidated. This reduces the stress that comes from poor communication. Use the assertiveness ladder to improve your communication style.

Whether you're the mail guy, the CEO, or probably the average working parent, stress is one unwanted visitor you would love to boot out of your homes, especially your life.

Warm Regards

Debbie Christensen

Celebrities are just like ordinary people. They need to maintain their figures just like anyone else, and there is more pressure on their part since they are constantly in the public eye. Ordinary folks can have celebrity-like bodies, too, and by following these diet and fitness plans, they can also look red-carpet worthy.

MEDITATION 101

Greetings,
Now that the holidays have passed things have slowed down and you are back to your daily routine. This is the perfect time to add meditation to unwind from the daily grind.Meditation refers to a state where your body and mind are consciously relaxed and focused.Practitioners of this art report increased awareness, focus, and concentration, as well as a more positive outlook in life. Some practitioners even shut out all sensory input – no sights, no sounds, and nothing to touch – and try to detach themselves from the commotion around them. You may now focus on a deep, profound thought if this is your goal.It may seem deafening at first, since we are all too accustomed to constantly hearing and seeing things, but as you continue this exercise you will find yourself becoming more aware of everything around you.

1.The place you perform meditation should have a soothing atmosphere. It may be in your living room, or bedroom, or any place that you feel comfortable in.). You may want to have the place arranged so that it is soothing to your senses.

2.Silence helps most people relax and meditate, so you may want a quiet, isolated area far from the ringing of the phone or the humming of the washing machine. Pleasing scents also help in that regard, so stocking up on aromatic candles isn’t such a bad idea either.

3.Loose, comfortable clothes help a lot in the process since tight fitting clothes have a tendency to choke you up and make you feel tense. The principle here is focus. You could also try focusing on a certain object or thought, or even, while keeping your eyes open, focus on a single sight.

4.One sample routine would be to – while in a meditative state – silently name every part of you body and focusing your consciousness on that part. While doing this you should be aware of any tension on any part of your body.Mentally visualize releasing this tension. It works wonders.

In all, meditation is a relatively risk-free practice and its benefits are well worth the effort (or non-effort – remember we’re relaxing).Studies have shown that meditation does bring about beneficial physiologic effects to the body. And there has been a growing consensus in the medical community to further study the effects of such. So in the near future, who knows, that mystical, esoteric thing we call meditation might become a science.
